Perfectly Plaid Card Pair

I was looking for some inspiration in designing cards for my Holiday Card buffet. I came across two designs like the one shown below. It used product from the Wrapped in Plaid suite found on pages 12-14 of the new Holiday catalog. I decided to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) this design from Linda Buechler at Inkyfingers Papercrafting.  This card is very quick to make. It uses the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper which has gold in it and the Pine Tree Punch. Once I made this card I was left with a white tree and I decided I needed to use this to design another card for my class.

My second card utilizes the white tree and part of the Wrapped In Plaid paper left over from making the first card. After I had CASEd the first card I started thinking about what I could do with that white tree and in no time I had my second card ready to go. The bow is made from the Shaded Spruce/Gold 3/8" ribbon which is also part of the priduct suite. This ribbon is double sided and very easy to work with. These two cards together would be great for making a large quantity of Christmas cards in short amount of time.

Rustic Retreat Country Christmas

The days have been cooler here in upstate New York and it makes me realize fall is just around the corner. Then comes winter and Christmas which is my favorite holiday to craft for. The Rustic Retreat stamp set is in the Annual catalog and is quite versatile, but I bought it to make cozy winter cabin scenes. I featured this set a few weeks ago in blue, but today I have a card with more traditional Christmas colors.

I love this card, but it does take a little bit of time to put it all together. I also used Stampin' Blend markers and Stampin' Write Markers. There is fussy cutting, Wink of Stella, and glitter!! Oh my! A card for the more avid crafter, no doubt. My card has an Early Espresso base, a layer of Whisper White, followed by Cherry Cobbler which has been stamped with the Buffalo Check background stamp using Early Espresso ink.

The cabin has been colored with the following Stampin' Blends: Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler, Light and Dark Soft Suede, Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Light and Dark Smoky Slate, Bronze, Light and Dark Mossy Meadow, Light Seaside Spray, Color Lifter. I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to add Stampin' Glitter to the cabin scene. Stitched Layering Dies were used to create the Mossy Meadow frame around the scene. I did use a generic glitter for the shaker part, but there is glitter available in the new Holiday catalog that would be perfect!

For the greeting I used Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Markers along with my Stamparatus for the two toned greeting. The evergreen was stamped in Mossy Meadow then the Wink of Stella pen was used to spread the ink. I fussy cut the evergreen boughs to add to the card front.

This is a very fun card to make and well worth the time and effort. It will definitely be among those I will be making multiple of to send out to my friends and family.

Happy Stamping!
Michelle

Holiday Catalog Sneak Peak #2

Another Friday closer to the Holiday catalog going live for customers. This week I bring you another look at a stamp set available in the Holiday catalog. This stamp set comes as a bundle with two punches. Yes, TWO punches. The card I am highlighting today showcases the gorgeous paper also available with the entire suite of products. The Designer Series Paper coordinates with Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Pretty Peacock, and Very Vanilla along with highlights of copper.

I used the Mossy Meadow paper along with the lovely mix of stripes on this card that has a Night of Navy base.  I colored the berry and leaves with Night of Navy and Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends. These markers color well on Very Vanilla and make it very easy to have a great looking image. I also used the Color Lifter to give the image some highlighting, then fussy cut the image and added to the card front.

Card Dimensions:

Striped DSP - 1 1/2" x 5 1/4"
Mossy Meadow DSP - 2 1/4" x 5 1/4"
Night of Navy Strip - 1/2" x 5 1/4"
Stitched Rectangles - the second to smallest for the Very Vanilla and one size larger for Night of Navy

The stamp set is called Christmas Gleaming and the DSP is Brightly Gleaming. Watch for these items when the new catalog goes live on September 4, 2019.

Holiday Catalog Sneak Peak - Not Just for the Holidays

As I am working on card designs for my August card class, I remembered I was asked to have a wedding card in the set for this month. I wanted the card to be elegant, but also quick to put together. I also recently received my Holiday Catalog pre-order and it came to mind that I could showcase a new stamp and die set from the catalog and make a wedding card. I can not show you the new bundle, but I can show you a sample card using it. Actually, the card does not use the stamp set, just the matching die cuts.

The bells will be found in the new Holiday Catalog when it goes live on September 4. The bells are very elegant and can certainly be used outside of the Christmas holiday. The set will feature several style of bells and a few different sizes. The card I designed uses the largest bell in silver foil in the background and a cut design in Whisper White over the top. This card also uses a stamp from Meant to Be and the Stitched Nested Label dies. Basic pearl jewels and silver trimmed ribbon were added as accents. I also used the Subtle 3D embossing folder on the background Whisper White Layer to give the card more texture.

Christmas in July Week 4

I was at a loss of what to post for the last week of Christmas in July. I am working on a set of projects for display at an August gathering of demonstrators and I was going to wait to share some of those ideas until after the meeting. However, I really wanted to share this card with you and it is a perfect ending to my Christmas in July series. This week's card features the Rustic Retreat stamp set which is a new set in the Annual Catalog. It is a set that has a little bit of everything which makes it a perfect set to own. I will share more cards made with this stamp set in the upcoming weeks.

I love Christmas and all the colors that go along with it, not just the traditional red and green, but other colors as well. I particularly enjoy blue and silver and that is what led me to design today's card. I was inspired by a card made by Lori Lemke, another Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator. It features Night of Navy, but also uses Seaside Spray which is one of Stampin' Up!'s In-Colors for 2019-21. Seaside Spray pairs beautifully with Night of Navy and has a hint of gray in it which makes me think of winter skies in the Northeast of the US.

Rustic Retreat has a lovely log cabin image that makes it perfect not just for Christmas, but year round as well. The greeting is also found in this same stamp set. I did pair these images with the evergreen trees from Rooted in Nature. I'm very happy with this monochromatic card that I will be making more of to have in my Christmas card stash.

Christmas in July Week 3

This week I am showcasing the four designs I am using in my Christmas in July Stamp-a-Stack class on Thursday July 25. The stamp sets I used are current, but I did use retired Designer Series Paper and a retired embossing folder. The stamp sets I used are Merry Christmas to All, Making Christmas Bright and Lots of Cheer.

This first card uses the Merry Christmas to All stamp set. This card is inspired by a card from UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Michelle Last which she designed last Holiday season. You can see her original card here.

The second card uses the Merry Christmas to All stamp set as well and was inspired by a design from US Stampin' Up Demonstrator Melissa Kerman from last Holiday season. You can see her original card here.  I did not use the technique she used for putting together the card.

The third card uses the Making Christmas Bright stamp set. This card was not inspired by any one demonstrator, instead it uses a tri-panel theme you find on many cards.

My fourth card uses a greeting from the new holiday stamp set Lots of Cheer. I was using up retired Designer Series Paper and keeping the designs simple for my stamp-a-stack.
